When I ordered this I knew there was a chance it would be a bit tacky. The previous bed I ordered wasn't very sturdy and was hard to put together, but this fit exactly as I needed it to. The support under the mattress is so strong it can hold me, another adult, and a few kids with no creaking, and the way it's designed gives me full confidence it can withstand some rough housing. It's easy to install and with a small step stool you can have it up within a day.What I liked is that the quality of the material is really nice so if I wanted I could mount some internal curtains into the windows and add a door system to really give my child the feeling of having their own little home to hide away in after a long day. And, for those of you who have A frame houses on the upper level, this would also be a good fit. When I put this up I was worried it might be too tall and the fit would be awkward but it's so perfect the back roof lights up with the ceiling and it fits like a puzzle.We got this for my daughter's birthday. The shipping took less than what was expected.. Only took 2-3 hours to put together. However many of the pieces had some sort of oil/grease on them and had to be cleaned well. One of the roof pieces were a different color brown than the rest so the roof looks a little off in the back now Don't get me wrong, my kiddo loves it! It's just not worth what we paid for it.Adorable bed. Fairly easy to put together with the directions although it seemed a couple directions were backwards. Durable. The bed did have a paint smell for a couple days but that went away. My little ones loves it!My grandson loves his bed. We are going to add battery operated string lightsThis was definitely not easy to put together. Not every piece lined up and I'm not entirely confident I managed to do the roof correctly. However, I will say that this is something I did entirely on my own, as a full time working single mother two young girls (3 and 1) and a very needy dog who I call my third child. A skilled person would probably have far less trouble.It took me a weekend because doing anything this big requires lots of extra time to account for child wrangling and misplaced hardware. The seller kindly sent me several replacement pieces when I was only missing one. I happened to purchase two of these, because my daughters are not sharing a room and I am NOT dealing with rivalry over who has which bed - so everything will be exactly the same. I anticipate the second one being easier, since I've done it once before and know what to expect. It will be another year or two before my youngest graduates to her big girl bed. For now, my oldest loved the finish product and it's been a fun hang out for her and her little sister and our neurotic dog.It did not come with all of the hardware we had to request it from the seller. Took 5 hours to assemble and the directions were not good but once we overcame all of those obstacles it is a beautiful bed
