My daughter wanted a new loft bed for Christmas, so Santa granted her that wish! It arrived in two very large, heavy boxes, well packaged, and we were immediatley impressed with the good quality of wood! Not the cheap stuff--this is really good quality! We chose the light gray color option.We are the type of people who will lay out everything in advance, meticulously, and follow the directions verbatim to set ourselves up for success. Each panel came labled with letter stickers on it so it was simple enough to lay out each piece alphabetically. Actually, we had our kids lay them out, for us, it was really that simple!Following along with the directions made the assembly very hassle free in that regard. It took us a few hours to put together, and my daughter is thrilled with it!This piece is best suited for kids less than 4'8" (my recommendation, as a shorter kid can truly enjoy utility of desk and shelf space below the loft bed!) and weigh less than 150 pounds (as per the manufacturer specifications).This item is sold across a number of different vendors on AMZ and online. We scanned the reviews as part of our decision making.Net/net: good quality, sturdy piece for right-sized child, easy to assemble and follow along directions (allow few hours for assembly and good set up), and stylish. Equally important, my daughter loves it!!Looks great and fits perfectly in the room. We have 8 foot ceilings so I needed something a little bit lower. My 8 year old loves it, he’s nervous to sleep on the top bunk because he says it creaks but in time I think he will love it. I like the storage.. we can display his legos on the shelves.The bed was fairly easy to assemble. My husband was able to do 95% on his own in a couple hours and my teenager helped with the rest. It looks really nice. I'm a little disappointed that the drawers don't come out farther. I expected they would not hold much, but not that you couldn't pull them out more than half way. The top bed is also higher up than our previous bunk beds. If you have a really little one on the top, it may make them nervous. We have to make sure the ceiling fan is off before using the ladder - it is that high. It looks clean and modern and is a nice shade of gray. It has a little wiggle since it's not made of thick cuts of wood, but it still seems sturdy.We absolutely dislike the ladder being at an angle instead of flush, vertically against the frame. Can't change it unless you rig it. There aren't screw hole covers, not even cheap matching color stickers, nor the wooden caps or anything of the sort. So once the finished frame is put together, you have these hideous screw holes on the face of everything. On the bright side, it is very sturdy and my children, from 1.5 yrs old to 13 yrs old, all jump on the beds and I have absolutely no worries of it buckling under them. All-in-all a great ugly product.My daughter absolutely loves this bed, it is worth every penny!Also take into account it is a "value for money product", I checked previously in Pottery Barn and similar products of a much better quality were more than 3.000 usd (we took my daughter to the store and she fell in love with the concept bunk+shelves+desk, but I dont have that kind of money).It did take me a good 8 hours to assembly, so be very patient, it is not easy.As mentioned, great value for money, and kids are in love with the bed!It reveals a lot of screws and the instructions were tricky, but the beds themselves are beautiful and easy to build. I do recommend if your looking for a quick loft. also easily customizable and rearrangeableTo weak and not real woodHard to assemble but fairly sturdy once done. I don't like that all of the bolts show, it makes it lookvery cheap and just not pleasing to the eye. They should either match the bed or give you covers for them. My son likes it and that is all that matters but I would probably not recommend purchasing for anyone else.
