All in all, I’m happy with the purchase and think it’s well worth the price despite some design flaws. The directions were mostly pictures but they were pretty straightforward and with two people it took about 4 hours. I really love the little nook on the bottom and the extra storage space! The pieces were sturdy, however some of them were missing the stickers so you had to figure out which part was which; also, several of the pre-drilled holes weren’t properly aligned or not deep enough so I had to widen the holes. My two biggest complaints are the there isn’t padding on the bottom bar and there is a gap from the mattress to the slide that made sliding over the bump awkward and uncomfortable. I ended up cutting up a pool noodle to pad the top of the slide and the bottom bar because my son whacked his head hard on it. I covered it up with a sheet for aesthetic purposes. He also ended up falling off through the gap so I put a guard rail up as well.Lastly, things to consider: the stairs are a bit steeper than I was expecting (my son has mobility issues so he has to scoot down on his butt). It’s quite awkward to make the bed but that’s expected.
