If assembled correctly, the bed is very sturdy. Came very well packaged in three boxes, which made it easier to carry upstairs. Requires two people to lift the assembled bed on top of the bottom frame/stilts. My wife and I did it fairly easily. Wood was well finished with no dings. Screw holes were all well-aligned and predrilled. Pieces well-marked. Took me about 3.5hrs to build on my own, but I took my time since my kid would be sleeping in it. 8inch mattress gives plenty of space, so you could easily use a 9inch mattress instead. Very impressed with the quality of materials and design and sturdiness for this price. Holds weight of both kids and both parents in the bed all at the same time, and the clearance underneath is fun for the kids to play under. Ladder is a little steep for younger kids (under 5), so supervision is required. Would definitely buy this again.Exactly what I was looking for. We Have low ceilings and limited storage. I was able to store a bunch of stuff underneath and cubbies and cabinets that are neatly tucked away. This review is for the twin size bed with angled side ladder. The quality is worth the price; the bed doesn’t feel flimsy and the individual pieces were all pretty solid. The bed shipped in three boxes. It’s not perfect - a few dents in the wood and whoever spray painted the bolts laid it on a little thick, which caused some Allen wrench difficulty.I’m good at assembling furniture and it took me about 2 1/2 hours to construct. At least two people are needed to lift the bed onto the legs and get them into place. You don’t *need* anything more than a philips screwdriver but a torx bit and a drill speed up the job significantly.I’m attaching a picture of the safety warning information, since the product description isn’t clear. My son loves this bed, if you can assemble box furniture you can handle this. Took about an hour, you are going to need a second set of hands to put the bed on the legs though. We put some thick felt furniture pads on the wall sides of the legs near the connection to add stability and cut out squeaking from the moving against the baseboard. The quality is great, and is sturdy enough for my 13 year old son to climb in and out like any boy would do without any worry. The assembly was a bit difficult in that you have to assemble the bed completely, and then lift it onto the extension frame, all while lining up bolts and holes. Easily a 3-4 person job. It took 2 adults forever to finally get it right. Was worth the trouble though! We LOVE this bed. I was disappointed to have to pay several hundred extra just to get the ladder on the short end of the bed. Regardless, this has been a game change for our small home. We can place crib mattresses on the floor (Montessori style) underneath so that at least 3+ kids can fit comfortably in a room. Since we have the full size version, the kids can sleep on top together if they desire or camp out underneath. It's tall enough for an average adult to sit under and short enough that my two year old has slipped on the ladder but not gotten hurt.I searched high and low for a sturdy, attractive loft at a reasonable price and this is it! As an interior designer, I would highly recommend this bed. Great quality for the price. We love this bed! Ordered it for my 6 1/2 year old and he loves it too! We are going to put curtains around the bottom for a hideout! It took my husband 4 hours, by himself, to put it together. He recommends following the directions carefully and there will be no problems. It not only looks great, but is very sturdy and definitely a quality piece of furniture. I would highly recommend this bed!
