It’s a good bed set. The two beds are not connected the bottom bed has a complete head and foot board and can stand alone no problem. The top bed will always be tall. The support legs are solid metal frame. But you could put a dresser or bookshelf underneath. So far the beds do t have that metal on metal squeak noise. And my boys are rough.
