I wanted to provide my daughter with her own area & a little privacy. We live in a 1 bedroom apartment. I gave up half of the living room for this bed and my daughter is in love! She has privacy, her own space, & storage underneath. We installed a curtain in the window so she can have even more privacy & a soft light strand for more light when she closes the curtain. This bed is functional and cute. We didn’t install the ladder because she doesn’t need it. I took off 1 star because it’s difficult to put together. While she did most of it herself ( and she is proud of that) I had to step in when holes didn’t line up like they should or the wood was stripped so screws would not hold tight. Also, the roof boards are quite flimsy. I got creative and made things work, but it was frustrating to put together. However, completely worth it in the end.
